Southwest Ohio Trial Lawyers Association
The Southwest Ohio Trial Lawyers Association (SWOTLA) seeks to preserve
and promote an effective civil justice system for the citizens of Ohio,
and throughout the United States of America.
Our legal association welcomes all individuals to join, including new attorneys,
seasoned law professionals or law students who share in our mission. We
proudly serve those who are injured by the unsafe or unfair actions of
others, and by extension, the public good through the promotion of safety,
equity, and fair redress for damage to person or property. Our members
strive to uphold the dignity of the legal profession and the highest standards
of ethical conduct with the public, opposing counsel, and the Court.

We serve our members though the generous sharing of our individual knowledge,
resources and talents. This is made possible through an active
calendar of events that give our supporters opportunities to engage with other legal professionals
in the field.
Our members enjoy the following benefits:
- Trial Judge of the Year Dinner honoring a local judge that produces fair
and just results (free admission)
- A half-day Spring Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event on several hot
topics pertinent to our members' practices (free admission)
- Summer Happy Hour (free admission)

- Access to members meetings every other month with lunch provided
Being a SWOTLA member promotes unity and professional ties within the legal
community in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Interested in becoming a member Of SWOTLA?
Individuals who wish to become a part of SWOTLA must meet certain criteria
in order to merit admission. All lawyers engaged in the practice of law
in Southwest Ohio shall be eligible for membership in SWOTLA, provided they
meet the following criteria:
- They are dedicated to the representation of plaintiffs in the areas of
personal injury, professional negligence, products liability, workers'
compensation, Social Security disability, civil rights, employment rights,
or unlawful discrimination
- They do not regularly represent insurance companies, corporations, employers
or governmental agencies in the defense of plaintiffs' claims, and
do not regularly earn fees or otherwise benefit from the defense of plaintiffs' claims
- They are willing to share information, techniques and experiences in the
field of law in which they practice
Admission and continuation of membership shall be determined by the Board
of Trustees.
